Hello

My name is Claire Mauvezin and I am an Illustration/Entertainment Arts major at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. I love to create paintings and drawings, whether it is digital or analog, along with characters to depict compelling narratives.

My Story

Getting art inspiration in peculiar ways has always been part of my creative process. Being a person who dreams, thinks and feels quite vividly, I am able to draw from those creative personal messages and emotions for ideas in characters, illustrations and narratives. I call them my “inner voice.”

One of my most profound sparks of artistic inspiration happened in my childhood. Characters would appear to me in inanimate objects, and the amusement of seeing them beckoned me to create what I saw. My goal at the time was to draw those funny characters, which I now believe is where it all started for me in my art.

Today, as a student of entertainment illustration, my goals are very much the same. I strive to create characters and narratives that show emotion and distinctive personalities, surrounded by a dynamic aesthetic. In order to do this, I enjoy incorporating classic animation styles along with fine art.
